Jacqueline has obtained a B.S. degree in agricultural economics from the University of Minnesota on a 4-year academic scholarship and M.S. degree in public service from DePaul University. The University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener program has given her training hours to be certified as a master gardener. She has also written for the Environmental and Food Justice blog on Africanness and indigeniety in the Black farming community. Jacqueline is a certified permaculture designer that practices indigenous ancestral food cultivation methods and instructs as faculty of the Permaculture Institute of Chicago. Her volunteer service includes being project coordinator of the Green Lots Project (an organization educating and inspiring far south side Chicago community residents to garden) and assisting the Black Oaks Center for Sustainable and Renewable Living in Pembroke, IL.
